- Hi!
 My
name is Wolfie. I am a 5 year old, housebroken, spayed
female chow mix dog. I weigh around 55 pounds and am up
to date with my shots. I also know some basic commands.
I don't know why my former owners' named me Wolfie, but
I think it might be because I look like a black wolf. I
love to play with my toys, and especially love my ball.
If you throw it, I will bring it back to you. I like to
bite on hard bones and love to have my tummy rubbed. I also
don't mind being squirted with a hose on a hot day or running
thru a sprinkler. I would also be very happy running or
jogging with you because I have a lot of energy and love
to be outside. When I am home I only bark if someone comes
to the door. I am very smart and know my basic commands.
I am always attentive to my surroundings and aim to please
the humans I am with. I don't mind spending time with older
kids as well as adults, but would prefer to be an only dog.
I am not sure if I like cats because I haven't had a chance
to know any. I am a good girl, and have been waiting a long
time for my forever home. If you give me a chance, I will

 Six
to seven year old Backslide is a male Siberian Husky
who was picked up as a stray and was brought to the Liberty
Animal Shelter in Jersey City, NJ. He is a beautiful, friendly
husky, weighing in at a respectable 65 lbs. Backslide is
gentle and loving. However, like most huskies, he is also
strong, high energy and has an independent streak. That
is why we recommend a home without small children. An adult
should handle walking, etc. If you can give this incredibly
handsome dog the second chance he deserves, please contact

Caterpillar
is a ten year old husky/shepherd mix who is waiting for
her forever home at the Liberty Animal Shelter in Jersey
City, NJ. This is what Caterpillar has to say for herself:
Hi there! I guess my family knew that November is "Adopt
a Senior Pet" month, because I was left behind in the
apartment when they moved......In the end, their landlord
loved me more then they did. The landlord fed me for two
weeks and then brought me here, realizing I'd have a better
shot at being seen and adopted. I'm ten but have already
demonstrated I am no stick in the mud. When life hands
me lemons, I make lemonade. As my broad grin and merry
eyes telegraph, I am a happy-go-lucky dog who is getting
on with my life instead of pining away for people so callous
they'd abandon me without a backwards glance. At 95 lbs.,
I admit I'm a tad overweight. I should probably weigh
around 60 something. That's nothing diet and exercise
can't change. Kirstie Alley slimmed down and she's no
spring chicken. If she can do it, so can I! Looking forward
to meeting ya.

Shirley
 is
just 2 years old and a very active dog. She is friendly
to people and other dogs. Shirley is outgoing, responsive
and attentive. She has the foundation for obedience training,
but needs continued work. She is not yet housebroken,
but is smart and motivated and should do well with crate
training. Shirley will need daily exercise, either a couple
of long walks or some running and playing in the yard.
We think Shirley will make a great addition to a family
who has some time to invest in her training. Please come

because his owner had no time for him. He's a sweet boy
who's slowly adjusting to his new environment. Raven is
said to be housebroken and good with other animals. He is

in Bayonne and is a sweet good natured husky, with all
the usual husky characteristics, both physical and in
personality. He is young, gets along with other dogs,
and may be okay with cats (not truly tested yet). He is
a little on the small side and has some wanderlust about
him. Anyone looking for a young male husky would do well
with this boy.

Kazar
-  Kazar
seems to be a Husky or Malamute mix that is about 2 years
old; he may be mixed with some type of Hound since he
points and tracks. He is very submissive and calm with
humans. He is great on lead and walks and jogs at a matching
pace to the human at the other end. He is learning basic
commands and is very good at come, down, and sit. His
foster family has cats and he pretty much ignores them
unless they run. He will ignore cats, dogs, birds, and
squirrels while on his walks but loves to greet all humans
with a big tail wag and will cuddle up to anyone. He is
so willing to please and very easy to train that he would
make a great first time dog. He is also housebroken. Kazar
has a issue with his food when other dogs are near (toys
are not a problem); he doesn't want to share so his foster
family would like to see him go to a home as either an
only dog or with someone who has experience with this
behavior. Although Kazar has NO issue with humans taking
food out of his mouth or touching his dish his foster
family would rather that he go to home without small children.
I am a 2 year old Husky / Shepherd mix boy named Kazar
that was abandoned. I don't know why the people did
that and don't know why some one doesn't want me as
I am very sweet and I love people. I also get along
with other dogs and even cats. I love riding in a car
and have learned to sit and give my paw. I'm also housebroken.
I have been neutered, fully vetted and will be driving
to new Jersey on November 10th. Will you please fill
out an application for me and give me a chance to get
that forever and always home that I want ?

Blanca
- Blanca came to us as a stray. She has one blue eye
and one brown one, giving her a very striking appearance.
Blanca will be spayed before leaving the shelter. She
is a shy girl, sweet and quiet. She is uncomfortable
with being restrained and stressed out in new environments.
Once she knows you, she loves to go for walkd. Blanca
needs an experienced owner - someone willing to work
with her to help her gain self-confidence. No children,
please.

She has pretty blue eyes, she is house trained, good w/kids,

are still getting to know her. Update: we have found Lady
to be very friendly, she loves to give kisses.
