Sunday July 20th, 2003 Jessel is doing very well. She did 'decorate' the living room last evening, but has done everything else outside. She slept in the crate all night after a little whining, got up this am & came out to take care of business. She was fine in the powder room while we went to breakfast. She likes to run in the yard with Phoenix (GSD), is neither aggressive nor too passive with the other dogs, comes in nicely and likes to be petted non-stop once she gets close enough to let you start. Skittish, but not terrified. Took her 'pill' with peanut butter in a very ladylike manner. Takes treats very well & gives great kisses. Ok going up steps, but down is pretty scary at the moment. Should be an easy placement! Tuesday July 22nd, 2003 Slept all night & has gone outside this am. Considering the fact that the world was ending last night and she didn't go out, she is quite remarakable. (Actually, only Galena went out in the middle of the worst & didn't seem to notice things weren't quite the same.) She did destroy the molding around the bathroom door yesterday, but I got a crate last night so that should be the end of it. She really likes me, but then I'm an old white lady...lol. Of the 4 residents, only the Devil Dog doesn't seem to like her. Don't know if it's jealousy or just the fact that she's a brat. Not eating a lot - guess she was one who got food - but nibbles now & then. Skittish with my dh, but less so with me now. Has learned the steps quite well. She could probably go as soon as she's spayed as long as the adopter is willing to work on the socialization. She's alone for 3 - 6 hrs depending on my schedule. |
