Success Stories: Our Dogs

Cosimo (formerly named Gus) is one of the "Hazlet 9", a group of huskies that Tails of the Tundra rescued from frightening conditions on July 19th in Hazlet, NJ. Read the story...

Visit Cosimo's Hazlet NJ page for more details about this boys stay in foster care.

Cosimo was adopted on September 7th, 2003. He gets along great with his new girlfriend, a Lab/Rott mix named Harley. From their first meeting it seemed to be love at first sight!

One of the Volunteers who witnessed the adoption wrote:

By the time we had arrived, Harley a female Rotty lab mix met Willie. For all that Sandra said her Harley once had been... What we saw was a true testament to the work she put into her... She really was great with all the dogs. She was doing good with little Willie... She did give him a couple of uncomfortable snaps...

Then we brought Cosi out and it seemed to be love at first sight... We then threw the three of them out back for awhile to play... And at one point Sandra was trying to figure out if she could really handle three dogs:)

She then met Uisce and was "ok" with him and Poodle head.... Was a little too moron for her taste. It was really apparent that Cosi and Harley were just perfect together.

As we were leaving she was setting up the pool for the two in the backyard, since Harley made it clear after she dug up the contents of her water bowl on the kitchen floor that she needed some water playtime.

I can't remember the last time I actually saw someone glowing with such happiness about their new dog.... And how happy her own dog was playing with a new friend. It really was such a wonderful feeling that all of us had.
