Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue
Success Stories: Our Dogs

If those eyes could talk!  Ellie was a stray, living in the woods in northern New Jersey, surviving (barely) on handouts from local business people.  She was starving to death, and too afraid to approach people.  No one knows how long Ellie was on her own, or the story of how she ended up that way.

Ellie was rescued by Tails of the Tundra and adopted on April 21, 2004 by James and Diane and their 6-year-old husky, Ga-oh, where Ellie has been given a second chance to know human love and kindness.

We heard from Diane on 4/23:

Ellie is doing great. Her anxiety is gone. This morning Ellie, Ga-oh, and I listened to some soft classical music. The doggie guys each have their own little scatter rug to lay on. Ellie laid down and closed her eyes and fell asleep on her side.

They've been playing on and off outside today.

We all ran some errands and these two guys got some really nice treats (beef marrow bones, string cheese, etc.).

I am so grateful to you for sending her to me. It's such a joy to wake up and see that beautiful little face. She woke me up this morning by putting her chin on my bed!

Ellie is sleeping at my feet as I write this e-mail. Ga-oh is sleeping nearby. The "guys" are getting along very well. Ga-oh is very gentle in his play with Ellie. She has really settled in and seems to be very happy. She is very special to me.
