Brahms
found his forever home on August 20, 2005. He came
to his new home and it seemed almost immediately that he leaned
on Barbara, Nate and Tally for attention and rubs. He went in the
house and the first thing he found was a tennis ball. Nate learned
quickly that he loved to play ball.
From
his new dad:
I started using a remote correction collar with him to train him
for good habits. Sit, down, stay, come, no, etc. It has worked amazingly
well, he is a completely different dog. With his daily exercise
and the training I have done with him he is like a totally different
dog. Very calm, obedient, he lays in the driveway while I work on
my cars and watches other dogs walk by. He truly has become a great
dog. He will not leave my side for any reason, and if I open the
door to go outside he doesn't even consider walking out unless I
tell him to. I think he was meant to be my dog he follows my every
step, and even now he is sleeping under my chair. I have cut back
on his running distance to keep his paws in good shape, but will
order his booties once we start picking up the mileage in the cooler
weather. Additionally we took him to the trails to run last weekend
and he loved it. He is doing ok with Lily, she is still a little
afraid of him but she is not hiding all day. They actually sleep
next to each other once in a while. She gets a little irritated
on occasion and will growl at him but they don't really fight.
I will attach a picture of Brahms...he is really starting to look
better also. He's gained some weight, his fur is coming in soft
and he actually smells pretty good. He is very obedient, you honestly
would not believe it...I only have to tell him something once and
he does it. He walks on a leash perfectly now, has not taken anything
off the counter in weeks, but shreds stuffed animal toys, and then
walks around with just the squeaker in his mouth, squeaking for
hours! He is a riot. Thanks again, he is my perfect dog! -- Nate
