Adopted on October 17th, 2009
Rori took a nice ride Indiana PA to meet Jean her 8 mo old husky mix
Lincoln. Jean felt that Lincoln needed a playmate to wear him out. Jean is
getting a housemate at the end of next week and she and her little dog Abby
were there too. Lincoln and Abby play well together even though Lincoln is
4 times the size of Abby. Abby is about 5 and a little beagle mix. Jean had
no idea what a good boy Lincoln is until she met Rori.
Her foster mom describes the adoption day, "*We first introduced Godiva who
was happy to see both dogs but a little on edge. Abby was barking a bit but
met very nicely. Lincoln almost immediately went into a play bow. Godiva
was happy to sniff but really didn't seem interested in playing. Overall
things were good with everyone but Godiva seemed more interested in helping
Abby hold the couch down than to play with Lincoln. Soooooo we introduced
everyone to the spawn of Satan, aka Rori. Again, Abby barked a bit and
Lincoln play bowed. We still took it slow and left everyone do some
sniffing before the two began to play. Once inside the back yard, Rori went
off on her own a while to sniff and Lincoln kept a respective distance and
let her do her thing. Abby just hung out. Eventually the chase began and
soon all three were running around the yard. We moved things indoors rather
quickly since it was cold and raining. Rori made herself at home on the
"dog couch" and Lincoln couldn't have cared less. Rori did quite a bit of
investigating thru the house and really showed Jean what a real Sibe is like
with some counter surfing, and picking up every little thing she could find.
We discussed the pros and cons of both dogs and left Jean and her friend to
talk it over. Babeth and I weren't back in the car more than 5 minutes when
they waved us back into the house. As I had suspected they chose Rori. A
good choice for them, as she was by far the best match for Lincoln and they
are about the same energy level, although I think Rori may still be raring
to go once Lincoln poops out. All three dogs were out in the backyard
playing when we left."*
